All in a DES work...

Last Thursday, I was on the train on my way into college.
I spotted some GIANT TYPOGRAPHY in the distance to my left. (Helvetica Bold at that). It looked like it was out with the bins, to be thrown out.

I WANTED IT! I've been looking for something like this for ages...

So myself and Emma decided we'd go on adventure and try find it.
We got off the Train in Geneva and hoped onto the tram back in the direction of France...

We spent about 3/4's of an hour walking down random roads and lanes trying to find the Giant 3D letters.

Eventually we found them. But they weren't actually out with the bins, they were outside a small sign-making factory, but they were old and dirty, so I asked the guy working there, and he said we couldn't have them for free, but he'd sell them to us. We had 40euro between us, so we bought 5 letters for 40 quid...not bad.

No car, and about 40 minutes from home, we started walkin towards the french boarder.
It was roasting! When we got to the boarder with these GIANT LETTERS the guards were standing there, facing the other way, so we kinda legged it past them, I doubt they would have been happy with us taking them across the boarder.

When we got to France, we tried to get the bus home, but the bus driver would not let us on with the letters. We ended up buying huge black bags and covering them up, then we got the bus back home!

I plan on detaching them from the frame, cleaning them up and making something out of them.
